Pinterest Perfection: Timing is Everything 2

Pinterest is one of the most fun social media platforms available to us today. Having fun is one thing, but you still want as wide a reach as possible when pinning and posting – it’s kind of the point of social media marketing. You want leads and conversions and for those you need traffic.

So how to increase the reach of your Pinterest profile?

A lot of it is influenced by timing – when and how often you post.

Frequency

You want to pin as much as you need to get your brand and products/services out there, but you also don’t want to flood the Pinterest-verse and push people away. So how often can and should you post?

According to research, the expert’s opinions generally vary between pinning five – 10 times a day and three – 20 times a day. On average this works out to nine pins a day.

Work on this number to figure out your individual peak frequency – post a few more than nine and see what happens, as well as a few less than nine. Stick with whichever has the most positive effect on your traffic. Remember that with Pinterest, more is more. The Pinterest community is built on sharing so rather err on sharing too much than too little.

Social media marketing is the process of reaching prospects and customers, and acquiring traffic and visibility through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and many others. By utilizing the social aspect of the web, social media marketing is able to connect and interact on a much more personalized and dynamic level than through traditional marketing.

Spread your pins

Let’s work on an ideal of nine pins a day. This is all good and well, but you cannot simply post all nine pins at once – it is seen as dumping and can easily annoy pinners to the point where they then dump you. While it is time-consuming and rather inconvenient, not to mention impractical, to devote loads of time during the day to spread pins (keeping in mind the peak times to pin) you can, however, schedule them at regular intervals.

You’ll need a tool such as CoSchedule to schedule pins. In addition to your own content, you also want to share content from other pinners; you can use a tool such as the social curation Chrome extension to help you with this. Alternatively, Digital Cloud has experts who can take care of this for you and ensure you have pretty pins and great content posted at regular intervals.

Now you simply need to schedule those pins for the peak times when your audience is most active.
